Session Details
The Adjudication process is a form of Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR) as a result of the Prompt Payment Legislation included in the Builders’ Lien Act. The Prompt Payment Legislation provides Adjudication as a tool that can be used to resolve any type of construction dispute, beyond issues with Proper Invoices, late payment, or no payment scenarios.
Adjudication is similar to Arbitration or Mediation process as a form of ADR. The Adjudication Process is a much quicker and direct form of handling disputes on a construction project. In addition to being an expedited process, adjudication creates a method of managing and dealing with smaller disputes that arise during the construction phase of a project at a much lower overall cost.
